August 22 - Supposedly random game events that keep recurring?

Seriously I can't think of any "random" events that recur, but in an old fantasy campaign we thought that the black and white dolls that the town children had were possessed by an evil force and responsible for ... something. We followed that red herring so far that the GM now trolls us with black and white dolls at least once in any given campaign just because it amuses him.
